107 League Alumni Appear Across 16 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Rosters
At the beginning of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, the USHL had 107 former players spread across all 16 rosters. Now that the Stanley Cup Playoffs have entered the Conference Finals, 21 alumni remain on the rosters.
In the Western Conference, The Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers meet with a trip to the Stanley Cup Final on the line. Through two rounds, J.T. Compher has registered four points (2-2-4) in nine appearances for the Avalanche while Logan O'Connor (1-1-2) and Nico Sturm (0-1-1) each collected points in their six appearances. Goaltender Hunter Miska has yet to appear in a game but has been rostered through the first two rounds. For the Oilers, forward Brad Malone is waiting to make his first appearance in a game but was a scratch for the second round matchup with the Calgary Flames.
In the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning will attempt to win their third-straight Eastern Conference crown as two-time defending Stanley Cup Champions and will face the New York Rangers. The Lightning have three rostered alumni including forward Ross Colton (5-3-8) and defenseman Cal Foote (0-2-2) in 11 games played. Forward Cole Koepke was a late add to the Playoff roster, appearing as a scratch in a pair of games last round. The Rangers carry 13 alumni, led by defenseman Adam Fox who has 18 points (5-13-18) in 14 games played. Forward Andrew Copp has 13 points (7-6-13) in 14 games while Frank Vatrano (3-5-8), K'Andre Miller (1-4-5), Ryan Lindgren (1-3-4), Jacob Trouba (1-3-4), Tyler Motte (2-0-2) and Justin Braun (0-1-1) have all found the scoresheet.
